Most affiliated FEI organisations have now updated their rules to reflect the international body’s rule changes.
These became effective on January 1, 2011.
The rule changes cover:
• Young riders competing on the same horse in different age/experience events
• Height restrictions for jumping horses 5 years old and younger
• Conditions that must be met for a Futurity event/class
Everyone should read these rule changes: competitors, parents, supporters, judges, event organisers and officials.
Go to the FEI affiliated organisation in your country and navigate to Jumping Rules (changes).

Comment: Great news! Horses 5 years and younger should have very little training over jumps, their bones and joints are still too underdeveloped to cope with heavy work or the impact associated with landing over a high jump. Maybe the FEI should go further on this issue?
